Our leading IT client is currently looking for an IT Administrator. The primary role of IT Administrators is to oversee and maintain all aspects of Nectar Group’s computer infrastructure. This includes maintaining networks, servers, and security programs and systems. IT Administrators manage the upgrade and installation of new hardware and software, perform troubleshooting to address any problems with computer systems, and assess viruses and potential threats to a company’s network.

Key Responsibilities/Skills:  

IT Administrators might also need to monitor the use of email, create and change passwords, make suggestions for improvements to computer systems, backup data and perform data recovery if needed.

1. Review a company’s computer systems to ensure that all aspects are operating efficiently. IT Administrators will troubleshoot problems, configure hardware and software, implement backup processes and assess systems for upgrades or replacement.
2. Install new systems, assess and implement upgrades as needed.
3. Install and manage security programs, run patches, and prevent virus/spyware attacks.
4.  Create and manage data backup and retrieval systems.
5. Manage network servers (Windows/Linux) and technology tools.
6. Set up accounts and workstations.
7. Develop expertise to train new joiners

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Proven experience as System Administrator or similar profile.
2. Experience with DB, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
3. Familiarity with firewall configuration, wireless access, and all other aspects of computer networking.
4. Knowledge of VPS configuration/management and or similar tech is required.
5. Knowledge of cloud servers, Azure, and or AWS platforms is desirable.
6.  Familiarity with various OS and platforms.
7. BSc in IT, Computer science, or a related discipline is a must.
8. Professional certification like MCSA is an added advantage.
9. Understanding Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices
