The Liaison Operations Manager will serve as the key link between the organization and various external stakeholders across Tamil Nadu, including government agencies, local municipal bodies, regulatory authorities (DTCP, CMDA, Pollution Control Board), and community representatives. The role’s primary objective is to ensure smooth operations by facilitating timely approvals, maintaining full regulatory compliance, and nurturing strong relationships with government and administrative bodies.

Key Responsibilities

Government & Regulatory Compliance:

  1. Manage and expedite all licenses, permits, and clearances required from State and Central government departments (e.g., land acquisition, FSI, construction, environmental approvals).

  2. Stay updated on local laws, policy changes, and government regulations in Tamil Nadu that may impact business operations (especially in real estate, manufacturing, or infrastructure sectors).

  3. Prepare and submit all documentation and applications to government authorities accurately and within deadlines.

Stakeholder Relationship Management:

  1. Build and maintain professional relationships with officials in local government, district administration, police, and other regulatory bodies across Tamil Nadu.

  2. Represent the company in meetings, hearings, and discussions with government and community stakeholders.

Project Facilitation:

  1. Act as the single point of contact for internal teams on external permissions and clearances, providing clear timelines and updates.

  2. Resolve procedural or compliance-related bottlenecks to avoid project delays.

Documentation & Reporting:

  1. Maintain comprehensive records of all communications, submissions, approvals, and payments to external agencies.

  2. Submit weekly and monthly progress reports to the Director of Operations covering approval status, relationship health, and potential risks.

Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Public Relations, or a related field.

  2. Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in Liaison, Public Relations, or Government Affairs roles within Tamil Nadu.

  3. Local Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Tamil Nadu’s administrative and regulatory framework, with strong familiarity with key offices and officials in Chennai and nearby districts.

Required Skills

  1. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Tamil (reading, writing, and speaking) is mandatory.

  2. Negotiation & Diplomacy: Proven ability to handle complex and sensitive relationships with professionalism and tact.

  3. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting official documents and interacting with senior stakeholders.

  4. Integrity: Demonstrated history of maintaining high ethical standards and integrity in all dealings.
