Key Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor security alerts, network activity, system logs, and potential threats using SIEM and security monitoring tools.
  2. Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware, phishing, unauthorized access, and other cyber threats.
  3. Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate with IT teams to ensure timely remediation.
  4. Analyse security logs and identify suspicious patterns, anomalies, and potential security breaches.
  5. Support threat detection, incident containment, recovery, and root-cause analysis.
  6. Maintain and update security incident reports, documentation, and response procedures.
  7. Assist in implementing and monitoring security policies, controls, and best practices.
  8. Work closely with IT, infrastructure, and application teams to strengthen the organisation's security posture.
  9. Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.

Skills Required:

  1. Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP and common security concepts.
  2. Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar, or similar platforms.
  3. Knowledge of endpoint security, firewalls, vulnerability assessment, and threat detection tools.
  4. Understanding of incident response and security investigation processes.
  5. Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST is an advantage.
  6. Basic scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash is preferred.
  7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
