Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor security alerts, network activity, system logs, and potential threats using SIEM and security monitoring tools.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware, phishing, unauthorized access, and other cyber threats.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate with IT teams to ensure timely remediation.
- Analyse security logs and identify suspicious patterns, anomalies, and potential security breaches.
- Support threat detection, incident containment, recovery, and root-cause analysis.
- Maintain and update security incident reports, documentation, and response procedures.
- Assist in implementing and monitoring security policies, controls, and best practices.
- Work closely with IT, infrastructure, and application teams to strengthen the organisation's security posture.
- Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP and common security concepts.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, IBM QRadar, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of endpoint security, firewalls, vulnerability assessment, and threat detection tools.
- Understanding of incident response and security investigation processes.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as ISO 27001 or NIST is an advantage.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python, PowerShell, or Bash is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
