We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Factory Manager to lead and manage the entire manufacturing operations of a heavy-duty engineering facility based in Chennai. The ideal candidate will ensure operational excellence through efficient production management, adherence to quality standards, and a strong focus on safety and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

  1. Oversee day-to-day factory operations, ensuring optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.

  2. Develop and implement production plans to meet sales and delivery schedules.

  3. Drive lean manufacturing practices, process improvements, and cost optimization initiatives.

  4. Ensure adherence to quality benchmarks and continuous process enhancement.

People & Leadership

  1. Lead, mentor, and develop production teams across multiple shifts.

  2. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

  3. Partner with HR for manpower planning, training, and employee engagement.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  1. Oversee quality assurance processes to maintain world-class product reliability.

  2. Enforce workplace safety, environmental, and statutory compliance.

  3. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to address process or product challenges.

Planning & Reporting

  1. Manage inventory levels for raw materials, consumables, and finished goods.

  2. Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, downtime, and quality rejections.

  3. Prepare and monitor operational budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).

  2. 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing management, with at least 5 years in a senior factory or plant leadership role.

  3. Experience in heavy engineering, pump manufacturing, or rotating equipment industries preferred.

  4. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, ISO/ASME standards, and Safety Management Systems.

  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
